 Durante os anos 1960, uma turma de caras [cerca de 30 a 40] do Brooklyn se reuniam para jogar basquete e cantar também. Jimmy "Bro" Hayes teve a idéia de convocá-los para continuarem essas performances em sua casa que era perto da quadra. Apenas 4 deles comparecerem, e surgiu então os reis da música A Cappella, The Persuasions. Os últimos álbuns tem sido uma honraria à seus artistas favoritos, como em Sing Beatles, Frank A cappella (Frank Zappa) e agora Sing U2.
